  Re: Where is everything going?

(...) I don't expect to be told shipping from Somalia to Suriname, but shipping within the seller's home country should be an easily known quantity, and should be stated. For example, when I buy a thirty year old magazine I'm willing to pay $5 for (...) (22 years ago, 11-Jun-02, to lugnet.market.services, lugnet.market.shipping)

Re: International Shipping (was Re: auction help and 5986, Amazon Ancient Ruins)

(...) There is a running thread (somewhere else) where I pointed out the page [1][2] in the USPS International Mail Manual (IMM) that documents that packages being shipped via Airmail Letter Post AND weighing less than 1 pound AND "are not (...) (22 years ago, 6-Jun-02, to lugnet.market.shipping)

(...) Yup, thats true. (...) In this case that would be the reason. A mistake on Royal Mail that they didn't leave a card or the receiver didn't want to pick it up. ~~ Mike Edwards ~~ (URL) ~ Edwards-Parts (URL) ~ Kanohi-Power.com ~~ (22 years ago, 5-Jun-02, to lugnet.market.shipping)

(...) That is correct. Nickle and Dime stuff that the PO will never tag you for, but still fraud. As a note, you don't need to check off any of those boxes; I always just write "Lego toys" in the descriptor, attach the correct dollar value for the (...)   Re: International Shipping (was Re: auction help and 5986, Amazon Ancient Ruins)

(...) I always check 'Merchandise' on the customs form; it is my understanding that checking 'gift' would constitute fraud (invoice in package, etc.) So it was most likely returned because the receiver did not collect the package and not becuase (...)   Re: International Shipping (was Re: auction help and 5986, Amazon Ancient Ruins)

As a fellow UK user I can help you here 1. This is a payment slip in which a user has to pay Tax of the import of this packet, If I am correct the rate taxable is beyond £20.00 UKP if its selected as Gift. since you have declared it as Merchandise (...) (...) Thanks Lindsay, I have never even heard of market.shipping or market.brickshops as I don't see them accessable from the Lugnet homepage. Am I missing something? Is there a place I can see an index of ALL groups and access them? Thanks in (...) (22 years ago, 31-May-02, to lugnet.market.shipping)

  Re: New Postal Rates

(...) This has been under discussion on .market.shipping (and, IIRC, .market.brickshops too). Followups have been set appropriately. best LFB (22 years ago, 31-May-02, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.market.shipping)

  Re: Dutiable shipments

(...) OK, based on an exchange rate I found this morning (CN$1.54 = US$1.00), that would mean that sales under US$13 may be duty exempt. Does this sound correct ? Ray (22 years ago, 21-May-02, to lugnet.market.shipping)

  Dutiable shipments

In order to resolve some questions concerning which shipements of Lego parts are 'potentially dutiable' (and require a customs form), I am asking the international buyers/sellers (i.e. non-US) to help with some basic information. Personally, I am (...) (22 years ago, 20-May-02, to lugnet.market.shipping)

Re: Priority Mail boxes (not likely to be of interest to non US readers)

(...) As it was explained to me, it goes something like this... There are three (maybe more) lists that PM supplies can be ordered thru. One is the web site for you and me, one is the list that the post offices themselves can order from and one is (...) (22 years ago, 29-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shipping)

Re: Priority Mail boxes (not likely to be of interest to non US readers)

(...) That's weird! I do the same thing, I take in extras of the sizes I know they can't order either (one of the flat boxes they can get and one they can't). I don't mind that much as it keeps my relationship with the local PO in good shape. They (...) (22 years ago, 29-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shipping)

Re: Priority Mail boxes (not likely to be of interest to non US readers)

(...) I suppose that would make too much sense for my postmaster to order the boxes as a civilian and have them delivered to her directly (or for a bogus address). Actually, I don't mind doing my postmaster a favor now and then. I get extra special (...) (22 years ago, 29-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shipping)

Re: Priority Mail boxes (not likely to be of interest to non US readers)

Hmm, like the actual street address of the Post Office??? :-) (that would then be a funny way to initiate a new driver, (...) (22 years ago, 29-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shipping)

Re: Priority Mail boxes (not likely to be of interest to non US readers)

(...) I also am very happy ordering supplies online. About twice a year for me. Funny thing about PM supplies--it seems that some/all of the little rural post offices have a hard time getting certain box sizes. So every few months my local (...) (...) I think you dun good. Really. I guess I would go in on 11 pallets with other locals if I had to and if more sizes than just the one were only available that way.
