Thanks to everyone who responded. I was trying to point out
that there are more sizes available than the USPS website has
available in small quantites. Oh well, good intentions and all that jazz.

I think you dun good. Really.

I guess I would go in on 11 pallets with other locals if I had to and if
more sizes than just the one were only available that way. But I can live
without the 5x5 box, I guess, and it seems that's the only one not available
on the web. That's goofy in and of itself, really, if you think about it.

I reorder supplies about once a year or so over the web and it's great. Very
convenient.

I also am very happy ordering supplies online.  About twice a year for me.

Funny thing about PM supplies--it seems that some/all of the little rural post
offices have a hard time getting certain box sizes.  So every few months my
local postmaster asks me to order a few cases of the #4 cube box since it is
not available to her.  Dunno who she is giving them out to, but it would be
nice if they would order their own.  It would save me from returning cases to
the post office that my letter carrier has just delivered.

As it was explained to me, it goes something like this...  There are three
(maybe more) lists that PM supplies can be ordered thru. One is the web site for
you and me, one is the list that the post offices themselves can order from and
one is the list for large mailers (or anyone who can get them to believe that
they have valid use for an 11 palette minimum). The latter list is the full
list. Some of the sizes on that list may have to be made to order (posibly
grouped as part of a larger run). The full list is not available to the average
post office. They want those sizes too, so they piggy back onto a local mailers
order. The 12 palette order, that was just submitted here, will get divied up
between 5 or 6 local mailers and probably 10-20 area post offices. Luckily, the
post office I ship thru is fairly new, was built for future expansion, so they
have some room to store a few palettes until the mailers work thru what we
cannot store ourselves. Its a bit of an end run, but it serves everyone needs in
the long run.
