Seconded. And what's so funny/sad about it is that Frank is basically
looking for calm and reason too! We're so on edge about this that even a
call for peace and reasoned discussion can set off debate.

Thank's for the vote of confidence.

If Tamy comes away deciding not to offer her stuff at all, we've really
screwed up.

We sure have.

In another post, Frank said that maybe we should stop trying to police
Lugnet for Todd. I think a lot of us, in a well meant attempt to take
the load off Todd, have been trying to do that, informally. Frank may
well be right, it's not working well, because of the nuances of
interpretation.

That may be. Or maybe it's the informality. I have to trot out my old
suggestion of using small groups of people who are formally vested with
some standing and who consult with each other to make sure they're being
consistent and reasonable and fair before taking action.

I should have also mentioned this possibility (I have mentioned this in
the past). You are absolutely right, a group of people who are chartered
to have the role of mediating problems is what we need.

The informality is definitely part of the problem, mainly because the
discussion ends up happening in public, which publicly rakes over the
coals the person who stepped out of line. Some transgressions will
require public comment, but that piblic comment should come out after
listening to all sides.
