  tips wanted: Selling Custom Kits

Hi, I was thinking about selling custom kits on Ebay. I know a few people have done this & was wondering if anyone had any tips/thoughts or ideas regarding it. Also, if anyone has purchased a custom kit if there was anything they liked or disliked (...) (23 years ago, 5-Jun-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: tips wanted: Selling Custom Kits

(...) Although I haven't bought any kits myself, I must admit that I'm really tempted to sometimes. In my opinion, they ARE a bit on the expensive side, but if the kit looks great, I wouldn't mind paying for it (they usually have great parts too). (...)   Re: tips wanted: Selling Custom Kits

Why are the Prices so low at Ebay right now? A friend asked if I would help him out by helping him sell off his collection. Ebay isn't bringing the results I have commonly seen in the past. *shrug* Any gueses? Should I wait before posting more of (...) (23 years ago, 6-Jun-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: tips wanted: Selling Custom Kits

(...) At a guess, I'd say that it's a combination of eBay finally reaching a market saturation, and the blah economy starting to trickle down to secondhand markets. By market saturation, I mean that enough people are aware of and using eBay that the (...) (23 years ago, 6-Jun-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

(...) Well your reasoning sounds logical to me... and eBay Germany is doing even worse than eBay USA... now since I'm mainly an eBay BUYER I'm not complaining :-) Indeed, there isn't much that isn't offered at least once a month on eBay at the (...) (...) Yep, I think so too. Seems like sales (at least on BB) started to trail off about mid-April. They are just now showing renewed signs of life. I think this is somewhat cyclical. I saw something similar happen (although now quite as intense) (...) (23 years ago, 6-Jun-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.market.theory)

Re: tips wanted: Selling Custom Kits

I kinda agree with Kevin (although the weather in Michigan has been more like England for the last few weeks, cold and rainy). Maybe people are waiting for the July surprise from Lego Direct. Anyway, I look at it as a good opportunity to BUY! Gary (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jun-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

(...) I was selling at this time last year, and had much better returns on "desiderata" piece lots--but I get about the same on lots of good stuff.
