Good for you guys :-) I suppose I'm used to the US where we're more spread
out. I'm in Chicago, but on the west coast (I take at least one trip a year
to hang out with AFOLs there) it is so spread out its difficult to get a
large number of people together. So we have that issue at LEGOLAND,
satisfying everybody.

Yep. Multiple people have told me, if you come up with something that helps
LEGO sell, they will like you. Kinda obvious, but eventually it got through
to my thick AFOL skull. :-) That's where LEGO's relationship with its fans
is mutually beneficial. Most fans are always eager to talk to others about
the brick :-)

Good point. I would love to see miniland-scale exhibits in minifig scale.
But then again, that's what LTCs are for :-)
(random idea: wouldn't it be great if TLC eventually allowed LTC members to
use LEGO's bricks and create huge train layouts for permanent display at a
park or parks?? I'm sure the LTC members would do it just for the fun of it!)

Yep!! I'm in total agreement there.

Hopefully. Its great to see AFOLs all over the world as 'Ambassadors of the
Brick' to the public, and ambassadors of AFOLs interests to LEGO. Sure,
we're an insignificant market compared to what LEGO sells to parents and
kids, but we're a very loud insignificant market, who has clubs doing really
cool things promoting LEGO in many major cities. LEGO only has to tap that
further (I believe they're working on more AFOL support, it just takes
time), and they can reap the benefits of having us promote their goods for
free, or for the pleasure of playing with more brick.
As I say a lot of times when I perform a service for an AFOL friend of mine
- 'Pay me in brick.'
:-)
