We're booked!!! Sunday 7 April at 9:30am :-)

RLD wouldn't negotiate a discount (unless we could spend £15,000!), but at least
the morning session is ours and ours alone - no-one else will be able to book,
although we (i.e. Linda) can add more attendees to our group if we so wish ;-)
The maximum is actually 24, not 25 as previously advised... RLD and LLW are
aware that we are a group of adult LEGO enthusiasts, and not just bunch of
kids - it might not be quite what LLW were expecting as a first session!!! ;-)

This is the initial bumpf RLD sent us (I hope that we'll receive something more
meaningful in the post shortly):

LEGO MODELMAKING

This is a unique opportunity to join and learn from members of the official
model making team at LEGOLAND. Dedicated to the imagination and creativity of
all ages and set in 250 acres of beautifully landscaped parkland, this family
park offers an exuberant play environment and the ultimate ‘behind the scenes’
experience for all LEGO fans.

The Experience     You'll attend a talk and display on LEGO design and build
before touring the Creation Centre, where you can admire the model makers at
work. Now it's time for you to have a go at design and model making, using your
free gift of 1kg assorted LEGO bricks. You can spend the rest of the day
enjoying the park, and free entry to the park for another visit is also
included.

Participant Guidelines     The minimum age is twelve. Under sixteen's must be
accompanied by a participating adult. There may be certain age, height and
health restrictions on some rides and attractions in the park.

The Venue/s     This experience is held in Windsor, Berkshire.

The Availability     This experience will operate on approximately ten dates
from March to October. LEGOLAND is open daily from March to January. You can use
your free entry pass to visit at any time during the park’s season within the
year you book.

The Weather     The weather will not affect your talk, tour and model making.
The park is fully operational whatever the weather, with the exception of some
water rides, which may be affected in extreme cold conditions.

The Session Length     If you are booked for a morning experience
(9.30am -1.30pm) you will have the afternoon to enjoy the park. If booked for
the afternoon (2pm - 6pm) you'll have the morning (from 9.30am, rides open at
10am) to enjoy the park.

Numbers On The Day     You will share your experience with up to twenty-three
other participants. Numbers in the park will vary.

Spectators     This experience is not suitable for spectators.

Dress Code     Please dress comfortably with the weather in mind.

Other Information     Lunch is not included but there are nine restaurants as
well as picnic facilities on-site.

* This is obviously just a standard letter sent out to all attendees. RLD were
aware prior to booking that we'll be rather specific when it comes to that kilo
of bricks... We'll reiterate that tomorrow and double-check if we're looking at
a pre-packed bundle of bricks or if LLW will let us pick and choose!

Linda put this on her credit card, so there's no immediate rush for payment. If
you guys can get cheques to us by the middle of February, we'd appreciate it :-)

Please make your cheques payable to "Linda Wilkinson" and send them to:

I'll send out further updates as and when I receive more info :-)

Just Jono .oO and Linda too...

Notelette to Mark Morgan: my e-mail to you this morning bounced! Please advise
if you have another active account :-)

(...) Cool! Do let us all know how it works out. I hope LEGOLAND California will do this (hmm, I wonder if they could manage it for BricksWest?). Frank (23 years ago, 16-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.uk)
