FOTY - Xmas in July —Lawrence Wilkes
Havent had a decent find for a while then today, found an almost MISB 4558 Metroliner. I say almost as one bag has been opened, but the rest are still sealed. Whey hey! Trouble is I think I might have developed collectoritis, as now I am scared to (...) (24 years ago, 25-Jul-00, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.trains)

Re: FOTY - Xmas in July —James Powell
(...) Yes, sell your sets to me for the same price you bought them at! (seriously though, if you were trying to sell the set, I am sure there are a few of us here who would be interested, in part because it is not a MISB set...some of us realize (...)          Re: FOTY - Xmas in July —Oliver Giesen
G'Day Ya gotta decide if you want to play OR collect. Playing is much more fun. I mean what is the point of having LEGO sitting in a box ! it should be in ones hands so you can feel it, and then enjoy your finished creations. Cheers Oliver My 1 1/2 (...)       (...) Yeah, if you just leave it in the box, it's almost like just lookin' at pictures of sets in S@H and stores. :-) (24 years ago, 25-Jul-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: FOTY - Xmas in July —Larry Pieniazek
(...) Disagree. You can do both. It just takes deeper pockets. I have a MISB 4558 and a MISB 6399 I probably never will open but I play with 4558s whenever I want. (...) That I agree with. ++Lar (24 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: FOTY - Xmas in July —Richard Marchetti
(...) O good. I was worried another 24 hours might slip past without you mentioning your deep pockets or someone else's trust fund status. There is no point in collecting, Larry. Sure you can do it -- but all it expresses is obsession. But, to each (...) (24 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Take your sarcasm to RTL... (...) To imply that there are some who participate in LUGNET who are *not* obsessed is a bit of a stretch. Otherwise, why be here? As far as there not being a point to collecting, that is just so obviously wrong (...) (24 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Nope, sorry. I'm gonna keep it right here. (...) For the fun of it? To irritate you? But no, actually I don't believe in collecting -- only in building. Collecting is only for those without imagination. I recently asked someone else what the (...) (24 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: FOTY - Xmas in July —Timothy Jones
(...) What about building? Do you consider building part of playing? I mean, building is a totally different option. You should have put 'playing, collecting, and BUILDING'!!
