  New Year's Eve Fundraiser

On New Year's Eve I was asked if I'd like to help David Jolley with a display in Irthlingborough (UK) to raise money for charity. I was visiting my parents nearby at the time, so took along as many of my models as I could fit in the car. David had a (...)   Re: British Rail EM2 / NS 1500 class electric engine

A nice model, unusually it looks better in the ABS than the CAD! I think you have captured the cab to bodyside/roof join well, its one the most destinctive elements of this design.   British Rail EM2 / NS 1500 class electric engine

For quite a while now I had the intention to build a model of the former British Rail EM2 class engine (built specifically for the Woodhead route with it's 1500V DC system), later bought by the Dutch Railways during the engine shortage late 1960's (...)   Re: Boxes and storage

Thanks. I just checked out the Maplin website and they also have sets of 45 little drawers for 15 Pounds. Who would have thought that drawers and boxes would go under tools. When I did a search for 'box' on the site it returned none of these but (...) (20 years ago, 6-Jan-05, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Boxes and storage

I've done some checking, Maplins do a similar box to the ZAG one, it's made by Raaco and is called service case 13 - they are £5.99 each. Look under tools on their website. Maplins have a store in Manchester at Fort Retail Park. The postcode is M8 (...) (20 years ago, 6-Jan-05, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Boxes and storage

A picture tells a thousand words. Poundstretcher is one store I know is nearby. I've never seen boxes there before but those stores stock whatever is cheapest at that time so I should just keep checking back. Those zagboxes look really useful for (...) (20 years ago, 6-Jan-05, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Boxes and storage

If I know what stores have good things I can always search for the most easily accessible one online. At least most of the websites are good at that :-). I think there is a B&Q within walking distance of me (might be mistaken). I might try that (...) (20 years ago, 5-Jan-05, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Boxes and storage

Hmm. I haven't seen anything like that for sale anywhere. The closest I've got is the ZAG/Stanley plastic drawers (available at B&Q), but they don't go up to very big sizes. I've just had a quick trawl, but couldn't find a picture anywhere. I agree (...) (20 years ago, 4-Jan-05, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Boxes and storage

Firstly, thanks to everyone for answering. To answer the questions, I'm in the city centre of Manchester and after small drawers (preferably like these (URL)). I can get to anywhere near a train or bus line but would like to know what's there before (...) (20 years ago, 4-Jan-05, to lugnet.loc.uk, FTX)

  Re: Boxes and storage

If you have access to a Makro they have a very good deal on storage at the moment. Either that or as Tony says B&Q or Focus or the like. (20 years ago, 4-Jan-05, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Boxes and storage

Hi Tim, What are you after? Crates, drawers or trays? The DIY places can be good for all of the above. Where about in Manchester are you? There are loads of places like the B&Q Warehouses which have good selections of plastic storage solutions. Tony (...) (20 years ago, 4-Jan-05, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Boxes and storage

  Boxes and storage
