A couple of people have shown interest in doing a train layout at

MARSFIELD - NSW. June 8-10, 2002 at the Epping Boys High School, Cnr Epping
Rd & Vimera Rd, Marsfield. Open 10am-5pm (Sat/Sun/Mon). Admission $8/$4/$20.
Organised by the Epping Model Railway Club Inc.
(see http://news.lugnet.com/loc/au/?n=7727 for more)

The proposed layout is here, based on work by Ross.
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=92262

What I'd like now is some firm commitements of buildings (freight yard,
Station, downtown...)

Well, my station is a possibility
http://www.lugnet.com/~469/projects/station but it's fairly big & needs
about 10 studs clearance on one side & 24 on the other.

and commitments of time on the weekend for
setup/running and packdown from anyone. It is a long weekend and even though
it is still six months away the more time spend building and preparing, the
better.

I'd like to be there for the main show weekend, but I'd probably only
available Saturday & Sunday. With the current ticket wars, I may fly up.

If you don't live in Syd and would still like to contribute
buildings or rolling srtock (even if just a carriage with your club's banner
on it) please do! We'll probably be able to refund any postage it takes to
get your model here and back.

I can definitely contribute there - I have a N class loco
http://www.lugnet.com/~469/projects/n-class and also a P class almost
completed http://locopage.railpage.org.au/vline/p.html also have a couple of
container cars.

I also have a metroliner, a 3225 classic train, a "my own train" slightly
modified http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=7660 , 3 "my own
train" passenger cars, and a caboose, much of which others (closer) may
have, but they're here if you want 'em.

The show people expect to see the layout before June, so we should consider
a  March dry run.

I'll have all the stuff available for that, but may not be able to help with
setup. Depends on timing, and how cheap tickets are 8?)

The tables are in progress (complete with a shorter set of legs for a
dropped table river area).

Well, if you want a bridge, and there's anyone out there with some technic
beams lying around unused (I'll use 'em!), feel free to use my arch bridge
design http://www.lugnet.com/~469/projects/archbr - I'm a bit short of
technic beams right now! It neads about 64 1x16s & 64 1x12s (more if you use
beams for the hangers). It may be a bit longer than you want. Alternatively,
I (or someone else??) may have enough to do a small truss bridge. I'll look
into it.

(...) How does this look? (URL) call it the black & white bridge 8?) There's only about 9 bricks clearance - I didn't know how much lower you're making the river tables. But there probably won't be enough space to have any boats going underneath 8?( (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)
