lol Richard, Richard, are *YOU* listening? AFOLs are not their market! Why
can't you *understand* that? How arrogant and ignorant of you to imply that
you would know their business better than they do! For every AFOL, there are
1,000s of KABOBs. *They* are what's driving TLC's marketing strategy, not some
group of online adults who play with kids' toys. Whatever we as AFOLs want
from TLC, it had better, at least for now, be what they perceive as being
wanted by their target audience.
The painful truth is that TLC understands its market all too well.
Juniorization speaks more about the pathetic state of today's children than
about the decline of a toy manufacturer's designs. But that is a different
rant.

Wouldn't you be? When I first heard about RTL and LUGNet 3 years ago, *I* was
surprised that there were other adults out there who, like me, played with
LEGO!

No duh. But even if we aren't their *target* market, we are a market, and are
worth acknowledging IMO (and they feel the same way, hence this NG and their
willingness to listen to us). And since LD is able to streamline costs by
selling directly to the consumer, profitability can be realized at a much lower
production number than traditionally required by TLC standards. And that means
that small markets such as AFOLs can now be catered to whereas in the past, it
was cost prohibitive.
