The first time I heard this mentioned is at our apt at BF01 - Suz,
Steve, Jenn and I were brainstorming. When I brought this up, we were
talking about how we could implement it on LUGNET, with a LUGNET look
and feel, but "powered by Peeron".
And I think it doesn't actually matter who thought of it first. It's
been 2 years since BF01, 7 since 1996. I think anyone who wants to
implement good ideas (especially once they seem abandoned) is welcome.

Right - But that would have tied it in much closer to the LUGNET
membership (which it was already encouraging, mind you). You asked I
not implement that, and wait for you to do so - absolutely your
privilege. But you can't complain that it's not tied into LUGNET when
you told me not to tie it. And that's after it was already encouraging
people to sign up for LUGNET user IDs (which Peeron doesn't make any
profit off). We have always supported LUGNET, the Guide, the Newsgroups,
the _concept_.

It does? I never though of Peeron and LUGNET as competitors. I always
had the view that we compliment each other very nicely. How, in your
opinion, is Peeron competing with LUGNET?

When you guys approached me to help with LUGNET, I was happy to be able
to help. I did make it clear though, that Peeron will always be my
first priority. But since I never saw LUGNET interests in conflict with
Peeron interests, it never actually came into play. I do believe I've
been a helpful force for LUGNET, both behind the scenes on the server,
and with the minor front end changes I was allowed to make, bug fixed,
passwords reset, making sure we have backups of the server, setting up a
development server and CMS, and general monitoring and administration.
Todd, Suz, this is your server to do with as you please. I was happy to
help when I could, but if you're not comfortable with that, it's your
choice to make. I do hope we can continue cooperating, as I think it's
extremely beneficial to the community, and more importantly, I hope this
won't cloud our friendship.
