    minifigures in robes? —Jonathan Lill
I have been wondering whether they are going to make robed minifigures like harry and friends at school or Dumbledore. With some I can see them getting away with a cape but otherwise it seems hard to avoid. And would they do it like the castle (...) (23 years ago, 5-Apr-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

Re: minifigures in robes? —Kevin Knoot
(...) I was thinking of this earlier, and thought of something which might work. It seems like Lego could make a robe out of the 'cape/sail cloth' the same way Kenner made capes for Obi-Wan, the Sandpeople, Darth Vader, etc. out of vinyl back in the (...)         Re: minifigures in robes? —Mark LaRue
I hate top say it but i figfure they are going to take the easy way out. The robed figures will have dress bottom like on the midevil witches, with black capes just as we've seen on the star wars and castle sets. The Broomstick will no doubt be the (...)          Re: minifigures in robes? —Jonathan Lill
(...) I disagree. Broomstick riding is such an integral part of the stories that I expect Lego to alter the piece to allow the minifigure to straddle it. This is not difficult, it simply requires the narrowing of a small part of the handle. The (...) (23 years ago, 5-Apr-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

Re: minifigures in robes? —Leah Cardaci
I don't think they'll bother with the bottom half of the robes. The mini-figs will just have normal legs, maybe with a cloak. Look at how the Imperial Guards were portrayed in #7166: (URL) that outfit didn't qualify for a new robe portrayal what (...) (23 years ago, 5-Apr-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

(...) They may make a new cape-like-thing that covers both the front & back of a figure. (...) You can make minifigs look great on a broom, just make them look like they're running, with one hand back and one forward (holding onto the broom), and (...)         Re: minifigures in robes? —Bryan Beckwith
I just hope they use minifigs. With all the new larger figures coming out now, I am really hoping they don't use them just to help reach a younger audience. Bryan Beckwith "jonathan Lill" <jonathanl@myriadweb.com> wrote in message (...) (23 years ago, 7-Apr-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

Re: minifigures in robes? —Matthew Gerber
I wouldn't hold your breath for traditional minifigs for Harry Potter. The demographic is younger folks. Take a look at Max in the new Creator line: (URL) that tousled hair, just print some glasses on the face and you have everyones favorite (...) (23 years ago, 7-Apr-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

Re: minifigures in robes? —Matthew Gerber
(...) I've been toying (no pun) with the images at LEGO to try to get the scale of the new figs. The seem to be the same 4 brick/1 plate height as the traditional figs, just with more detail (2 stud feet, sculpted ball socket heads, etc.). Dryden (...)       OOOHHHHHHH... " 'confirmed' "! Sorry, I didn't know that 'confirmed' meant gospel truth...truly, very sorry about that.       judging from the pictures that were mysteriously put on-line..... "not affiliated" with JK Rowlings or with movie producers...          Re: minifigures in robes? —Aaron West
(...) Yes, I remember the offical LEGO/TLC announcement from New York Toyfare news stuff that plants Potter as a solid minifigure of standard LEFO ilk.         Re: minifigures in robes? —Aaron West
(...) I think it will be nearly identical to the method used to do Star Wars mini-figures. Most of the Jedi had robes, and LEGO examples used the cape/hood/printed torso and leg design. I doubt it will be much of a problem or that they would do (...) (23 years ago, 8-Apr-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

Re: minifigures in robes? —Kerry Raymond
(...) Well, I'm not so sure. I think nostalgia is important for a lot of AFOLs. AFOLs show a strong preference for "olden days" Lego :-) We like Star Wars because we all went to the movies and saw it; it's part of our youth and part of our (...)
