I suppose I can give the person's name to Gary Istok for his letter, but I
would probably want to ask permission before I make them the target of bulk
email/snail mail/fax asking for xyz, since the channels for that are already
supposed to be the Customer Service department.
I personally know that while a deluge of requests to sell bulk nuts (my line
of work) would possibly get me to offer it, I would be a little annoyed at the
person who threw my name into the ring. As that person would be me, I would
not want to burn a bridge I might want to cross at a future date.
Remember, although bulk ordering is about worthless now, it might be very nice
in the future. I would would be wiser to take a rain check on my "brass ring"
and try using it when they are better able to fulfill wishes than to toss it
away immediately.
Perhaps I will call tomorrow and see what I would need to do to get some type
of positive action started. Or, I may just have to climb the ladder one more
rung. Until I actually get told by Karl Kjeld Kristiansen (sp?) to take a
flying leap, I figure there is always somebody who can pull rank and get me
what I need.
On a side note, I have discovered that the people who work in the model shops
in Carlsbad and other places cannot even buy bulk bricks. And they already
have them right there and the distribution network is in place! Still, it is
not allowed. I really do think that Sanjay had something special and more
likely than not, it was wise for him to keep quiet about it, since it seems to
be a pervasive corporate policy that bulk sales is a no-no.
I would hate to get in and lose it due to a big mouth.
