Bulldog? Hydrant? Hmm...

Anybody else have favorite parts to which you've applied nicknames based
either on their appearance or perhaps their function?

Um... well... not that I'm going to admit, I guess. (grin)

You can admit it if you want... I promise not to make fun of any names you
may have come up with.  I started this silly thread, I'm certainly not one
to poke fun at anyone else. :)

More seriously, I actually don't do that. I try to memorise the LDraw names
for stuff and use those (and I try to get Nik (my 11 year old) to do that
too so he can be my parts monkey)

I meant to clarify something in my initial posting.  I wasn't suggesting
that we start renaming parts, or trying to assign cutsie nicknames to parts
and expect everyone to start using them.  I call plates 'plates' and slopes
'slopes' and arches 'arches' just like everyone else.  It's just that I see
a few pieces as interesting enough to warrant a more unique name.... used
exclusively by me.

After all, as I'm mumbling to myself... trying to build... trying to
engineer some terribly clever solution... trying to find just that right
part... I find it easier to think to myself, "I need a couple of hydrants to
join these sections together"  rather than looking for a couple of 1 x 1
bricks with studs on all sides.  :)

Regards,
Allan B.
