I see a lot of differences between the two as well. They are both the same
car and the same scale, and are going to look a lot alike if done well. I
wouldn't be suprised if he saw yours beforehand and got a few ideas, but I
don't really think it's a direct copy... If you go and look at some of the
other stuff in the guy's Brickshelf gallery he has a lot of other Model Team
type stuff and looks to be a pretty experienced builder. Anyway, if it makes
you feel any better I like yours a lot better!!!

Saw this on Brickshelf:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=30077
And found this to get a closer look at the design:

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MfcISAPICommand=ViewItem&item=3102058611

Now compare the photos to these:

...

As far as I can see, not a brick is the same in the two constructions! Just
because yours is the first one you've seen in Lego, you shouldn't believe
everyone is copying that. The car that you both are modelling is the same,
right?

All that aside, I think it looks better in red/orange or whatever the color
it is you have used.

Happy building (and New Year)
