Probably not what you want to hear, but I think that the two designs are
quite different enough from each other...different enough to believe that
the one for auction is a completely unique design, created without knowledge
of yours. After all, it's not like the car isn't one of the most famous
designs in the world, right?
Note the wheelwells, the SNOT technique on the angled side panels, the
treatment of the headlights and the lower portion of the doors, amongst
other details...very different, but both very well engineered.
What I think you may have found is your German building counterpart
though...you SHOULD contact them, if only to connect both designs...I think
that could be a pretty interesting conversation for you (and us if you
wanted to share).
