*finds can opener*

Here we go...
At what point does LEGO/LUGNET realize the futility of this? I've been
reading LUGNET for 4 years now, and every fall/winter this has happened.
Somebody (usually in Europe, but not always) will get a hold of a dealer's
catalog (or one year LEGO put the pictures on their website, outside the
firewall) and post them all. The first people will see them and start a
discussion, then LEGO will step in and have the pictures taken down,
somebody else will pull them out of their cache and post them/email them to
people, and the information will continue to spread.
Once the scans have been posted, it's too late to contain the information.
While I understand LEGO has some legal reasons for pursuing it, I still
think it hurts them more than it helps them. As for LUGNET not discussing
it, that's a lost cause. Unless you're going to delete every message that
talks about a new theme, a new set, or a new part (Probably a full time job)
it's going to get discussed, even if it's just how X piece will make a good
poleax or something.
It just seems like at some point the parties involved will have to come to
the realization that if LEGO releases the info to dealers, it will find it's
way to LUGNET, and LUGNET needs to realize that once that happens, it will
be discussed.
*looks at worms all over the place*
