Yes, the original poster is whining. I agree with Suz though. Tom's and
John's responses aren't particularly helpful. They are just the sort of
thing which starts a bickering war (which I truly hope this will not
degenerate into).
On the other hand, the original poster perhaps has a legitimate
complaint. There has been a ton of LD activity for releasing new town
and train sets, a single castle set, and the opportunity to vote for a
castle, space, pirate, or town set.
The poster has been told, well you've got HP, LoM, and Star Wars. Go cry
somewhere else. Well, train has 4561, surely they don't need more than
that?
If we want Lugnet to return to being a friendly place, we need to stop
trashing people just because we don't happen to share their opinions.
Frankly, I see the online LEGO community heading into a downward spiral
with little hope of pulling out. Each month, I hear about a new person
withdrawing from the online community, or even from the hobby all
together. Now a certain amount of this is expected since people's
interests change, but too much of it seems to be associated with the
ever increasing unfriendliness of the online community.
Frankly, I'm getting closer and closer to withdrawing myself. There
seems to be less and less sharing of MOCs, and now, half the times I go
to look at a MOC, I can't because the Brickshelf pictures haven't passed
muster yet. So I go an read the next post, and get a bucketful of
whining and bickering). I've also not been very motivated to go work on
my own MOCs.
Oh well, now I'm probably whining. I don't know. I'm not sure I care any
more.
