Agreed. In this particular case, it seems pretty logical that
"legolandwindsor" is probably associated with the Lego theme park with a
similar name. However, things get a lot more cloudy when it's sting.com
(which the pop star recently tried to take) or corinthians.com (which is
being turned over to a Brazilian soccer team named "The Corinthians" since
they _obviously_ own that word). It'd be too bad to set dangerous precedents
with cases like this. It's hard to know of a good way to apply trademark law
to domain names, since there isn't a clear mapping. (Trademarks are
limited by class and geography; domain names obviously aren't.)

Now, if the guy were selling clone Lego bricks under that domain name, or
pretending to be Lego, or otherwise defaming them, sure, that's a clear-cut
trademark case. If he were beyond a shadow of a doubt doing it to resell the
domain, then he would be a jerk, but not necessarily doing something that
should be illegal. And finally, if he is doing it just to be silly, which is
really what it sounds like, well: there's definite room for fair use of
trademarks there.

(...) I wonder though; how can they be expected to police all misuse of their name in a case like this? If they copyright legolandwindsor.com, what's to prevent some knucklehead from using "legoland-windsor.com" or "legoland_windsor.com" or even (...) (24 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.general)
