Short of throwing together a few sketches of some of the body parts, I haven't
gotten very far with a minifig-scale version. A few thoughts:
Due to the relatively blocky shape of the A-10, it should be easier than most
fighters to model in Lego.
The cannon should be a breeze -- we've seen lots of Gatling-style guns made
from the skinny Technic wheel. (I *think* I saw it on Terry Keller's models
first...)
It's too bad that the Naboo Fighter canopy piece doesn't come in a shorter
version; it's almost the perfect size & shape for the back half of the A-10
canopy but would need to slope more in the front.
The biggest challenge would be (IMO) a convincingly round set of engine
nacelles. I've actually played with this problem the most, as I was trying to
cook up a believable VTOL with round nacelles as well. Everything I came up
with was either too blocky or too stepped, or both. We almost need an
anti-aliasing tool for Lego pieces. :-,
