Hi, Terry!  Long time, no see!
Yeah, sorta been quiet for a while.  Guess I've been gone and forgotten.

*Almost* forgotten.  I was *this* close, too...  :-,  Just kidding.  I've been
hearing about your LDraw-admin feats behind-the-scenes, so I figured you'd • post
again some time soon...  Glad to see ya again.  Think you'll be putting out • new
models soon?

The biggest LDraw-admin feat was having Steve take over. :-)  (Thanks again,
Steve!)
Having been drawn into the whole Kidvention thing (a fun, though sunburned,
time), I find myself *trying* to read lugnet more.
The only really new model I have is still under construction.  Not counting
the X-Wing that has been together for (gasp!) two years.  Which still has a
web page needing completion. Have to take the X-Wing apart now, as the Technic
chain actuating the wings has stretched under the strain and is essentially
ruined. <sigh>

One thing that really amazed me was all the empty space available in the
leading edge of the wing.  It seemed cavernous, with wiring harnesses strung
leisurely between spars. The F-16 wing leading edge on the other hand is
packed. Tighter than 2 pounds of spamcake in a 1 pound tin.  Which makes it
hell to work on.

I'll have to look closer next time I see one (one's on display here at Hill
AFB), but it sounds like the wing is a bit thicker than most fighters' wings.
How many plates thick minifig-scale do you think it'd be?

It's way thick.  Like *way*.
If an F-16 wing was 1 plate thick, I would guestimate the A-10's to be at
least 4 thick.

(...) Yes, of course you can't go thicker for airfoils with a supersonic aircraft, and of course making it thicker has no really disadvantages for a low speed aircraft (and also you should have to make it thick for these low speeds, to obtain (...)
