Re: How to properly "announce" MOC's

(...) ;) You know, I actually could have implemented some kind of reload-blocking, but then again I'm pretty sure the effort wouldn't pay off in the long run. I have just checked the read counts collected since the update, and it lists some 16,000 (...) (16 years ago, 8-Jul-08, to lugnet.general, FTX)

(...) I'm sure no-one will abuse the system by reloading the page multiple times to increase their own view count either. Just like no-one self-spotlights now ;) (16 years ago, 8-Jul-08, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: How to properly "announce" MOC's

Just a quick update: I've taken a little time and implemented a read-counter for web access to news posts. Now for display of individual articles you will find a new header line saying "Viewed: X times" - it should show the actual views of that (...) (16 years ago, 7-Jul-08, to lugnet.general, FTX) !

Re: How to properly "announce" MOC's

(...) Well, it's difficult to find something to add to your posts, you know! But rest assured, a post by Gary Istok is definitely read, many times. (16 years ago, 7-Jul-08, to lugnet.general)

Re: How to properly "announce" MOC's

(...) When I first starting getting into building with legos as an adult and realized that I was not the only guy (or girl) over the age of 30 who still played with Lego®, I was into numbers like that after I found Legnet. I would always look at how (...) (16 years ago, 7-Jul-08, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: How to properly "announce" MOC's

(...) Gary, I am one of those silent people who has never shown appreciation for the wealth of information you share here. I look forward to seeing posts from you because your posts usually contain interesting information, sometimes thought (...) (16 years ago, 7-Jul-08, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: How to properly "announce" MOC's

(...) Hi Gary, I take that as a valuable suggestion for what might be changed in the near future, however it is somewhat difficult to tell how often a post has been read as we have more ways to access posts than just the web. Still even after all (...) (16 years ago, 7-Jul-08, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: How to properly "announce" MOC's

(...) I have to 2nd what John just said. But there is one thing that really discourages me from posting here, say as opposed to on Bricklink. Often my posts are of such a detailed historic or obscure nature that I get no replies to them. That in and (...) (16 years ago, 7-Jul-08, to lugnet.general, FTX)

TLG wants your input on the CITY line

Hi all, The CITY team at LEGO would like input on potential lines for 2010 and, as the LEGO Ambassador for LUGNET I'm asking you to help.   Re: LUGNET in its Senior Years? (was Re: How to properly "announce" MOC's)

(...) I see your point here although I think that (continuing your example) I'm probably more broadly known as "gambort" now than I am as "Tim Gould" so the 'edge of responsibility' is attached to both names. Furthermore, a web search on my alias (...) (16 years ago, 7-Jul-08, to lugnet.general)

Re: LUGNET in its Senior Years? (was Re: How to properly "announce" MOC's)
