  Re: RulesTalk: Probes

The following is forward to .gaming.starship from SM/Player Avery Christy: Hello GM, I recently read a new thread on the Lugnet message board pertaining to the probes I sent out. Due to the schedule of events unfolding in the sector, I am operating (...) (21 years ago, 1-Apr-04, to lugnet.gaming.starship, FTX)

For instance, if it sees a valuable artifact or something, it must send the data back. It cannot go ahead and try to take the (...) (21 years ago, 1-Apr-04, to lugnet.gaming.starship, FTX)

  Re: RulesTalk: Probes

(...) I think the reason I would vote in favor of not registering is the very thing you hint at in your first comment here. Probes are (or should be) rather disposable.   Re: RulesTalk: Probes

(...) Based on what I am thinking for this topic, the SMs would still have full control over the mysteries of their sectors. If probes are given stats including a rating for sensors, then SMs could use that as a guide to what a probe might be able (...) (21 years ago, 1-Apr-04, to lugnet.gaming.starship)

  Re: RulesTalk: Probes

(...) My two cents (quickly--we've had a bit of craziness here so I'm late on SM emails, my work, and EVERYTHING) are that probes should be fine, if they are registered as ships--with brick models, images, the works. And it must be up to the SMs (...) (21 years ago, 31-Mar-04, to lugnet.gaming.starship)

  RE: RulesTalk: Probes

I think that this is a good idea...I would like to see some limitations or restrictions on what they might be able to see or even a "system failure" possibility. As we all know, several SM's have a mystery in their sector, Sending in a probe could (...) (21 years ago, 31-Mar-04, to lugnet.gaming.starship)

  RulesTalk: Probes

Here's an interesting question... A player has emailed the GM requesting that his home sector send out a number of "Long Range Deep Space Probes." (The player is also an SM.) He has provided stats including high sensors and zero weapons. And these (...) (21 years ago, 31-Mar-04, to lugnet.gaming.starship)

Hey guys I've always said that I'd never have a Dark Age, and until now, I believed it. Life is just moving too fast, I guess.
