Dude, talk yourself into Classic Colors! :-)

I'm with ya, man! Even though the advent of bley and "blown" (hehheh) has seriously curtailed my purchasing of new sets and my enthusiasm for new product in general, it's not completely a bad thing for a few reasons: 1. I spend far less money per (...) (18 years ago, 16-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.color, FTX) !

Re: Speed Build Competition (and sorting & steam)

(...) All I really remember from that NWBC'06 Sorting Roundtable was Rick emphasizing his points by tossing his zip-locked bags of Lego to the floor where they made a satisfying "Thunk". I remember that. I do, however, vaguely recall someone with (...) (18 years ago, 16-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

Re: BrickFest™ PDX 2007 - Brick Bazaar Announcement

(...) Time is almost up! If you need a Brick Bazaar table, and haven't yet reserved one, this is your last chance to do so. Table allocation is happening this weekend, so let Ben or me know ASAP if you'd like a table at the Brick Bazaar and we'll (...) (18 years ago, 16-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

So, who besindes me predicts that Kubo and Proudlove will be up Friday night and well into the wee hours of Saturday morning building and rebuilding until they each thinks they have the "Fastest Hands in the West"?   BrickFest Preso: Custom Decals - How to make them, and how to print them

Just a heads-up: I'll be giving a presentation at BrickFest to show you how to successfully design decals for printing on a waterslide-decal printer. I'll show you how I designed my Spy Bond torso decals, and German Army torso decals, and show you (...) (18 years ago, 16-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickfest) !!

Speed Build Competition (and sorting & steam)

Jon Rasmussen, who has been in PNLTC and its offspring clubs for about 10 years now and who is a very active builder in Wild West, among other themes, is still a lurker here on Lugnet. So I'm posting this stuff for him. :) Jon will be hosting the (...)   Re: Schedule for BrickFest PDX 2007

(...) Hi Matthew and bride, We've just put up the preliminary schedule (subject to change), but it should give you an idea of what we'll be featuring. (...) Phew! Glad to hear your beautiful and charming bride is at least 15 years old! I second the notion for a Brickfest schedule to be posted. Not sure I can make it, but even if not, I'd love to know what I'm missing. -Brendan (18 years ago, 16-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

  Schedule for BrickFest PDX 2007

Hey everyone! I'm looking for the schedule of events for Brickfest. I can't seem to pull it up anywhere--so if some nice person would please point me in the right direction, I'd much much obliged. Especially since my beautiful and charming bride of (...) (18 years ago, 16-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX) !

Re: BrickFest PDX 2007 - who's getting paid?

(...) That is why I said 'of sufficient involvement' and the no hard and fast rules bit you snipped. In the case of a small convention like BV then there simply aren't the funds to let all the volunteers in for free. In that case you have to set the (...)   Re: BrickFest PDX 2007 - who's getting paid?

(...) Not sure I agree there either - speaking as an organiser of Brickvention, all the organisers, helpers, presenters, etc paid registration, it meant the difference between a small loss and a large loss. Even our Australian LEGO Ambassador paid (...) (18 years ago, 15-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

Re: BrickFest PDX 2007 - who's getting paid?

--snip-- (...) On that I don't think I agree. I think that volunteers (of sufficient involvement) should be given free registration. If you are volunteering then you have to attend and it is thus an expense. In the event of a loss then I imagine (...) (18 years ago, 15-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

Re: BrickFest PDX 2007 - who's getting paid?

There is money to pay for licensing fees, building usage, etc. If there is a profit, it (usually) does not go into the (...) (18 years ago, 15-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

Re: BrickFest PDX 2007 - who's getting paid?

(...) The word "profit" was Joe's: The total profit that went to BrickJournal Media LLC was about $13,000. This is in addition to the $3,000 that went to AMH Productions for use of the BrickFest name, as determined by an agreement that was signed in (...)   Re: BrickFest PDX 2007 - who's getting paid?
