Just a heads-up:
I'll be giving a presentation at BrickFest to show you how to successfully
design decals for printing on a waterslide-decal printer. I'll show you how I
designed my Spy Bond torso decals, and German Army torso decals, and show you
the tips and tricks.
I'll demonstrate Corel X3 for decal design, and use an ALPS MD-5000 for
printing. I'll also have a video camera and a projector so that those in the
back can see the decals being applied without having to crowd around me. ;)
As an added bonus, I'll bring my ALPS decal printer and PC and let you design
and print your own small decal and apply it to you favorite MOC - right at the
show! Or, if you have a small design, bring it, and we'll see what we can do to
get it printed. I'll have to charge a nominal amount to cover the cost of
consumables (around $1 per decal for a torso-sized one), and you can print in
full color plus white and metallics (silver and gold).
NOTE: You must attend the presentation to get a pass and sign up for a time
slot. Also, if you bring a flash drive keyfob, you can save your file and bring
home. Or, I can email your file to you during/after the show.
P.S. - I'll be giving another presentation on designing custom Lego-compatible
items, and running a table selling BrickArms at the BrickBazaar on Sunday, and,
so the station will be unavailable during those times. :)
See you there!
