I ordered $366 worth through the web site on Sunday afternoon. With 2nd
Day air shipping at the bargain price of only $15, I thought I could be on the
way towards completing the stand as of this evening.

Later that night I received an email saying my order was not going to be
shipped, because my credit card had been declined. I thought this strange,
because the card had been authorized and approved earlier in the day. So, I
checked Paypal (to which my card is connected to) and sure enough, my account
had been debited not once, but twice for the order. With only about $500 in the
account, the second attempt was declined. Seeing as their customer service
department was already closed for the evening, there was no one I could talk to
about the order.

I have gone through almost the exact experience, I purchased a large S@H order,
TLC charged my card, then sent an email saying the order was canceled. as Daniel
said, I was busy, didn't get around to contacting them, then the next day, the
LEGO arrived. I then called TLC to see what the #@%& was going on, and they said
all was well. the very next order, they charged my paypal account, then A couple
of days later, AFTER the LEGO arrived, they must have somehow refunded my money.
then, at the the same time, I made a paypal purchase that I thought was going to
get 100% charged to a credit card, and it was charged to my paypal account. then
LEGO charged me again for the order, and my account went negative. back and
forth, mass confusion, I don't have time to sort these things out! now that I
read about your experience, I believe paypal is NOT GUILTY. somehow, TLC has
screwed their billing to the point that I don't want to deal with them. the free
shipping, and old colors are tempting, but I can get mostly what I need
elsewhere. I, as well, have not bought any post 2003 sets, after I bought a
couple of the knights kingdom II sets, and discovered the new colors. there are
enough good deals left of the old sets to satisfy my shopping needs. a very sad
state of affairs, if you ask me. Darren

At the last weekend's GMLTC showing, I found out from another club member that LEGO still had some of the light gray brick packs available. Still in need of several thousand pre-2004 light gray bricks to finish the stand for battleship project, I (...) (20 years ago, 9-Dec-04, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.dear-lego) !!
