  Re: Castle accessories arrived

(...) Who me? I only got 10 (I mostly went for Pirate service packs, though I did get quite a handful of Castle service packs also [mostly 10 of each, compared to the 20 each of the Pirate ones], plus a smattering of other stuff). I didn't hog the (...) (23 years ago, 24-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Castle accessories arrived

(...) Nope, not many at all. If you've got 10, I'm fairly positive (though still guessing) that you've snagged about a quarter of the total supply. James (wishing he'd heard about this soon enough to get some himself, instead of having to corner the (...) (23 years ago, 24-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Castle accessories arrived

(...) I think the total number available was around 50 for all of Europe. I now have only a couple--but in retrospect I'm shocked that I got any. But that's what happens when one has little else to do for a week, and happens to land on a lucky week. (...) (23 years ago, 24-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Castle accessories arrived

(...) One thing that I think is kind of neat here is that the lack of a 2nd hand market in most of these packs says that they actually mostly went to people who wanted them for themselves instead of to resell. I'm sure we will see some on eBay and (...) (23 years ago, 24-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Castle accessories arrived

(...) I used to put a lot of time and energy into hunting down good deals, but I've got a very limited area to scout, as far as a "primary" market goes. I also have scaled back a lot on on-line buying because it's such a hassle getting it done from (...) (23 years ago, 24-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Castle accessories arrived

I used to be extremely aggressive in looking for Lego and for the most part I was sometimes very successful. But after a while it became harder and harder to come across the good stuff. So much so that it quickly became apparent that if you spent (...) (23 years ago, 24-May-01, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.castle)

  Re: Castle accessories arrived

  Re: Castle accessories arrived

(...) Try about 150. He loaded 258 Falcon shields, 258 Forestman caps, etc., all at once, a little over a week after the great service pack rush. And I see he's already moved about 100 of those shields at $2.50 per. Nice work if you can get it. (...) (23 years ago, 24-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Castle accessories arrived

(...) Yeah, I figured right away that most people would be keeping theirs. I mean, I'm willing to buy these for $20, but I wouldn't sell them for that low. ;) I had hoped that either there were more of them or that one of the resellers had snagged (...) (23 years ago, 24-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Castle accessories arrived

(...) Ah, but those are parts from 5184, not 5138. Believe me, unless the parts from 5138 showed up and disappeared within about an hour, I'd have seen them, and I'd have grabbed them. James (23 years ago, 24-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Castle accessories arrived

(...) The parts from 5138 are not so different from 5184 & 5059, are they? But of course, you're not really talking about 'parts,' are you? You're talking about the armor! So, just out of curiosities sake, how much WOULD you pay for the armor? (...) (23 years ago, 24-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Castle accessories arrived

(...) It seems amazing that the Falcon shields are moving at $2.50 - I've seen that BrickBay shop have 159 for several weeks now (of course, with the irregularities of late, who can say if that is consumer resistance or simple lack of opportunity). (...) (23 years ago, 24-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Castle accessories arrived

(...) I like the euro-armor a lot, even though I don't have any. I'm afraid there would be much confusion in my ranks if it ever shows up. All the guys I have with the printed full-plate armor might be a little bit intimidated. Kevin (23 years ago, 24-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Castle accessories arrived

(...) This is certainly a tough one. I have about 25 of those armor pieces and I really wouldn't want to spend more then a $1 for 1, but, at the same time, I would never part with them for only $1. It's kind of funny how you're willing to buy things (...) (23 years ago, 24-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Castle accessories arrived

(...) For one or two of them, not knowing what the condition is? Maybe $3 bucks each. For the possibility of getting 20+, brand new? I'd pay $7 or $8 a piece. (and the rest of the pack is worth the leftover, easily) My $20 offer for 5138's was (...) (23 years ago, 24-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Castle accessories arrived

(...) I am assuming your not motivated to sell any of them at all, just as many of us would purchase items with possession and not resell in mind. The problem with obtaining parts from other Lego interested people is the very thing you mention -- (...) (23 years ago, 24-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Castle accessories arrived

(...) Hmmm, now I was thinking that for a volume purchase you'd want the price to go down, not up. I'd rather mail stuff out all at once and take a lower price rather than have to deal with 20 packages. Six euro-armors literally just landed on my (...) (23 years ago, 24-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Castle accessories arrived

(...) How many euro-armors does that make for you? And Bruce, where do I get a magical desk like yours? Kevin (23 years ago, 24-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Castle accessories arrived

(...) This is a common phenomenon, one I refer to as "hysteresis", taking the term from signals/electronics. For example, I currently would only pay 450 for a MIB airport shuttle, but would not part with the one I have for less than 1000. I (...) (23 years ago, 24-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Castle accessories arrived

(...) Dunno. I'm in the process of resorting all my Castle minifigs to see what I actually have of each. Maybe as many as 30. Zero a year ago. Lemme check... (URL) armor.   Re: Castle accessories arrived

(...) I'm not thinking about it as paying more for a volume purchase. I'm willing to pay more for the convenience of not having to deal with 20 packages (it's not just a hassle for sellers), and for the guarantee of good condition. Also, I have more (...)
