I apologize if this group has already discussed this but I thought I poke my
head over here or a sec to mention these little bioncile sets:

It seems like they come with weapons that might be of interest to castle
fans.
The sets I'm talking about are 8540 thru 8545. Now I have no idea where
these are coming out. Probably just the UK but its still something to
discuss.

Vakama has a cool flame staff
Kakama has a trident

I can't quite tell what the others have except for the one with the pick.

I've looked pretty closely at the available photos around the net, and I
have to say that I do not think they will be compatable with minifigures.
They appear to be connected through Tech series axle beams and pins.  That
means that while they look cool, a minifigure will not be able to wield
them.  I was hoping they would be of more use, but LEGO seems bent on making
fewer compatable products to the minifigure.  It is my personal belief that
the LEGO minifigure is THE perfect action figure, why LEGO does not exploit
this more is a mystery.

Actually, using rods that minifigures can wield, such as the grey ones found in
the naboo swamp set, you can slip the rod into the 'plus' shaped hole where the
technic beam would sit and it will fit.  Much like in my MOC mace, found on my
heroes page.

I agree, but that assumes that the tech part has to be female, rather than male.
