This topic has already been addressed in lugnet, and I've come up with this
conclusion. If someone replies with a thanks to a reply, but they don't reply
with thanks to my reply, I'd be a little hurt. While I'm sure they did not
mean to offend me in anyway, I'd still want my opinion publically validated.
If there are no replies to replies of a post, then I'd not feel as bad. Since
several people asked me questions, I decided to reply to those people. And not
wanting to be hypocritical, I replied to the rest in due fashion. Also, just
because one person asks a question, doesn't mean he is the only person who
wants an answer to that question. By publically posting a reply, instead of
emailing a reply to the poster, anyone who had wanted an answer to the
question, or those who had not thought of the question, would now have an
answer.
On another point, I do not use an email program to read or post on lugnet, I
use my web browser. It is FAR more convenient for me to post using the browser
than email, since I am a card carying member of lugnet. Members do not get
validation emails to post, if you didn't know, its straight to the forum. It'd
be alot of trouble for me to log onto my web interface email server and switch
back and forth between windows to get an email written.
Also, since I AM a member, and have paid my dues, who has the right to limit
how many posts I make on lugnet, providing I am not lewd, vulgar, or
pointlessly off topic?

| (...) Just thought I'd point out here that while there are benefits to getting a Lugnet membership, this isn't one of them. There's no limit to how much any non-member can post either.
