Re: Is lugnet.castle the place for stories?

I third the motion for a .castle.ballads subgroup. I love the stories, when I have time for them, and someday I will hopefully post my own. But most often I check out the root .castle just to get MOC ideas, share my own, and perhaps discuss (...) (23 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Is lugnet.castle the place for stories?

(...) I'm confused. Isn't that the specific purpose of CastleWorld? If not, we should definitely have such a group. But then would the CW group become essentially an administrative group? I think that lugnet should have a general stories group (...) (23 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Is lugnet.castle the place for stories?

(...) My understanding of Castle World is a group of people with a set story-line from admins...and then try to recreate different sequences of actions... ie sig-figs and story-lines based on a set of parameters. Sure there are stories, but I think (...) (23 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: 2 MOCs - creature contest entry plus Orthanc

(...) Thanks, coming from you I feel highly honored. I can't claim total credit for the Balrog as the body design is based on Marc Nelson's ogre: (URL) put up another chapter, the Voice of Saruman: (URL) taking photos of all of the scenes at Orthanc (...)   Re: I know it's been brought up before, humor me.

Hi, As with others, it is the Lego that draws me in, but a good plot can enhance the Lego experience. Mostly, though, when I come here I'm looking for Lego. For reading a story I'd rather curl up with a book than a computer screen. I'm (...) (23 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Is lugnet.castle the place for stories?

(...) This is my main objection. From my experience on other message boards and newsgroups, when there is too much compartmentalization, you suddenly get a whole lot of discussion on why this or that post belongs in this subgroup or that, which (...) (23 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Is lugnet.castle the place for stories?

(...) [Dons flame suit] Personally, I've felt rather repelled from castle for my complete opposite viewpoint. Stories are ok, but that's not what I come to Lugnet for. If I want a good story, I'll go pick one up at the library. And over the last (...) (23 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

It's up on my site if you wanna take a look (no story attached Im afraid :) ) all honest comments welcomed. ta (URL) Stacey ---...--- www.minifig.co.uk #925 - I'm a citizen of Legoland (...)   Re: Is lugnet.castle the place for stories?

I totally agree with you Bruce, I'm tired of the this goes here and that goes there crap.. I've basically given up on posting stuff because I've gotten my head bit off for posting in the 'wrong' place.. I'm sure someone will bite it off again very (...) (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Stickers

(...) Tammy.... WOW... my custom torso designs look great actually on the minifigs... I havent actually printed them all out yet and stuck them on.... Thanx for posting them..... : ) I like the couple you have done too.... I'm actually adding all my (...) (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Windy Miller Rides Again

(...) Very nice. I like the functionality a lot. I think my favorite little detail is the cockpit piece you used for the fireplace. That's a neat idea; maybe I'll borrow it sometime. Bruce (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Windy Miller Rides Again

(...) But one question: are you sure an open fire right next to a millstone is such a good idea? Flour is explosive, you know... --Bill. (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Chapter Four has arrived!

(...) Good stuff as always. Sounds like we've reached the end of the backstory, eh? Does this mean we'll get to read that cool first chapter again? :) I also really like the new format, makes it much easier to read. Keep it up! --Anthony (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Stickers

(...) yeah, your stickers got me started on this non purist journey of the minifigs :) They have given me over 100 useful figs that would otherwise have just sat here collecting dust. Though I can only use so many of those, so decided it was time to (...) (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Is lugnet.castle the place for stories?

Re: Is lugnet.castle the place for stories?

<snip> (...) <and another snip> I must clear up a point here. CW is a group of people (the balladeers) with their own storylines, controls, constraints, etc. The CW Admin is more of an update service than an actual admin. (and we haven't even been (...) (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Is lugnet.castle the place for stories?

In lugnet.castle, David Eaton writes: <SNIP> (...) That is your opinion, and I shall respect that. Not everyone likes an online story, its just the way the world works. However, I'd like to point out that most all of the subgroups of lugnet (with (...) (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Is lugnet.castle the place for stories?

(...) I'd just like to say that while I have been talking about stories, I do have my own (neglected as it may be). Don't take what I've been saying elsewhere to be anti-story. (...) Personally I see stories as a type of MOC. LEGO castle, especially (...) (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)
