(...) OK, I see where you're at on that. Yes... it would be nice to just put it in the DAT file itself. Huge advantage to that is that it's there. From some of what I read though, I got the impression that the modelling tool was supposed to get the geometry from the DAT file, but lookup the connectivity of the part in some other (...) I think that the list of connectors/connections needs to be expanded from what is shown here. My specific concern after reading the draft is that it does not seem to cover the possibility of placing a mini-fig headgear piece on a 1x1 round brick. A (...) A note worthy of some serious consideration, I got a priavte email from Jude Beaudin, who suggested the name might infringe on LEGO's interests. He suggested the project be renamed to 'LDraw Connection Database' instead, preserving the acronym and (...) (23 years ago, 29-Jan-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

A few notes on compiling it from the source: I had to copy the libpng debug files *after* the zlib debug files to get it to link because the zlib files overwrote vc60.something that it seemed to need. (Follups sent to lugnet.cad.dev.) (...) Well you have to careful when you do this. The problem with strips and fans is that they can only be used for smooth surfaces. Got a mockup already done - just wondered if anyone had done the whole thing yet. Might give it a try as far as the 'teeth' goes, but not sure am up to doing the 'open top' part of it yet. A a .DAT or .LDR viewer in an applet would be helpful for quickly viewing parts too new/unexamined for Partsref (or parts, such as minfig heads, that are too small in Partsref to really examine).
