Re: Demo of part manipulation in isometric view

(...) This is exactly how LeoCAD handles moving parts around by default, but there is an option to change it. I personally find LeoCAD awkward to use and have gotten used to the quirks of MLCad. Dan (23 years ago, 10-May-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Demo of part manipulation in isometric view

Hello again (long time no post). I'm in the process of developing my own DAT-based CAD program. One of the things that frustrates me about MLCAD is the apparent inability to drag parts around inside the isometric view--you're forced to use an (...) (23 years ago, 10-May-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Test posting of "Unoffficial Update"

Re: Unofficial parts at (URL) FYI, there are a few more new files out there. I'm not going to continue announcing updates; they should continue to occur on an ongoing basis, nearly daily. (...) OK. I took care of these two very minor issues. ;) I won't vouch for the quality of any of the linked data, though! The first part I pulled down had a half-dozen lines with syntax errors. :O Remember, that URL is (URL) Steve (23 years ago, 8-May-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Test posting of "Unoffficial Update"

(...) Maybe. I guess I'd rather not depend on programs treating the title line as fixed-format, instead of delimited. My code tends to strip extra whitespace around the 0 and the title. (...) We are already using the first format. Unless someone (...) (23 years ago, 8-May-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Test posting of "Unoffficial Update"

(...) I'm jumping in late here, so I may have missed a vital point, but wouldn't a blank space at the beginning of the part description force-sort the part to the beginning of parts.lst? I mean, could we have: 9999.dat Unofficial Part: Brick 2 x 7 (...) (23 years ago, 8-May-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Test posting of "Unoffficial Update"

(...) I just want to say Thanks Steve! for doing this. Maybe all the links don't work, but at least you can download all the parts in the zip file at the bottom. -Chuck (23 years ago, 8-May-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Test posting of "Unoffficial Update"

(...) Hmmm. Maybe you're right, for the short term. But putting Unofficial on the front of the name makes it clear for everyone. Most people wouldn't know what the @-sign means. Long-term, I want to use this 'unofficial release' page as (at least) a (...) (23 years ago, 8-May-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Test posting of "Unoffficial Update"

I like my @-sign better. It only takes one character, and it puts them first in the parts list (if sorted by description, of course). I recall that someone used another character, but which one is not important. Just my 50-öring. /Tore (...) (23 years ago, 8-May-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)
