I could make a tool to display a part (wireframe view) from any angle. Clicking on a polygon command in the DAT source (displayed below the view pane) would cause the edges of that polygon to appear as arrows, showing the order they were defined in. (...) Thanks everyone for your helpful information. I believe that I can now properly model curves manually (as opposed to just using cylinder primitives). I'll be trying it out on the "coarse" version of the Duplo bottom stud. As for BFC statements, I (...) (24 years ago, 10-Jan-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

I'd previously fooled around with the idea of making something real like this for my own collection but the back-and-forth crossreferencing of parts and sets threw me for a loop. (...) The inventories at Peeron ((URL) have most of the parts linked to Partsref (if the part is LDrawn) or sometimes a photo taken by Dan and Jen, as well as a list of the sets in the Peeron database containing (...) I would find this useful in that I would be able to obtain a visual appearance for more obscurly named parts. In additon it would help to idenfity gaps in the LCAD part library. Keywords... ;-) When looking for a part, and you don't know what it's called, but you *do* know a set it's used in and/or what purpose it serves, hop over to the PartsRef ("(URL) use the Keyword search. Out of morbid curiosity and the never ending pursuit of opening myself up for attacks, I would like to pose/offer a question or idea. In reference to the following... 3963.DAT Old Name: "Space Positioning Rockets" New Name: "Brick 1 x 1 with Plate and Positioning Rockets" I think the size should be either 1 x 2 due to the plate, or 3 x 3 since that is the actual size. Well.... I'm making AutoCAD blocks of all the pieces, so that if it has been "created in memory" from before, I just insert it at the apropriate place (x y and z from the dat file). So far, so good. (...) You're right, it doesn't save a file, but it only seems to be a problem with the ldlite parser. Try copying the executable to l3glite.exe and running it, or add -l3 to the commandline to use the l3 parser for now whenever you want to use the (...)
