I've been looking into the problem of making a model which is narrower
than the 8880 Supercar, while still retaining all the cool features,
like independent suspension and steering wheel drive.
Working with this, I have made a web page with some rant and pictures
on. To sum it all up, the suspension setup can be made 7 studs narrower
by moving the differential out of the centre and by replacing the
universal joint by bevel gears. If you have any subsequent ideas, I
would be most happy to hear them.

| (...) Great pictures. While I was building the 8880 I was supprised to find the specialized (non-technic-standard) means of connecting the wheels. Did you find a way to use the suspension with normal technic wheels? ____ |oooo| Cheers, |oooo| Wouter (...) (26 years ago, 17-Dec-98, to lugnet.build)
