Yes, this is very true.  As you say, it will not be too rigid, but it
will most probably work.  The problem may be that you'll need even
longer steering links, as the distance from the pivot points to the
ball joints is farther.

But the problem is: Where do you connect the suspension springs?
There's nowhere on the "2x1 plate with A-arm and ball joint"(1) you can
connect such a thing, so I personally thing this setup will be of purely
theoretical interest only.  But if someone proves me wrong, I'll be very
happy.
