Faceted beads scoop well with the LEGO front-end loader, back hoe, and Technic seat. The 8mm size works better than the 6mm size.   Using an RCX
 
Good idea, I have built a prototype pendulum clock using the RCX that has a realistic tick tock sound and swinging pendulum. This is probably not the first time its been mentioned, but I have a complaint about the rounded arches LEGO makes. Has anyone else noticed that the arches with the side plate don't all play well together? The two smaller sizes can be used together (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.build)

Too much trouble to thread monofilament thru the chain... if I'm gonna use a non-lego element (the filament)... I'll use it as simply as possible (w/o the chain). Eric, I can only echo the sentiments of the masses and say..."WOW!" Well, OK...maybe I can add a pointer too. You said that you wished to use lego chains for the weights but had to use monofilament because the chains weren't up to the job. Why not (...) The grabber I made is designed to lift my 6 wide piggyback trailers as seen on my webpage. (it will also lift 4 wide trailers). It uses L shaped 2x2 plates in the 4 holes of the red grabber. I am assuming John Neal is completely interested in this: I have just finished my first 8 wide train car. It is an adaption of Larry P's custom hopper. While experimenting with the red container grabber as used in 4555 I noticed that the holes for the black rubber are the same size as a stud. Okay. First I do agree with a little bit of what you said, no bulk sales. I beleive the Lego company was started by basic bricks. I think Town Jr. is sorry.
