At the risk of being pilloried, (but I gotta know),
would you consider selling the clock (or a clock)?
[ok, so that is really two, quite different questions]
Actually the real question I had in mind was...
had you thought about putting it up for auction?
I have a hidden agenda with these questions, but it relates
to the "value of art" problem. I certainly would consider your
work "art", by any definition. I have always had a problem with
"selling" paintings/sculpture/graphics work, i.e. in assigning a
price. An auction seems the "easiest" way for me... let the
customer set the price.
I would love to see what the "selling" price for your clock would end up at.
(I would love to have it myself, but cannot at the moment afford what I
think it's worth. )
I bet you could build several more creations, and make someone very happy.
I normally wouldn't be bold enough to ask, but I was discussing the subject
today
with several people at school, while we drooled over your work, and we all
really
wondered. (Each secretly/greedily dreaming, that you would sell it far
cheaper
than what we thought fair...)
interested in your thoughts,
:?) bishop

| (...) The easiest way for me to answer this would that I would certainly consider making another clock (or any other sculpture) for a commission. You are right, the cost would be high... not only to cover the bricks, but just for the time involved (...) (25 years ago, 22-Jan-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)
