  Sailor-sites?

Does anyone know of any good sites to go to for getting deck plans and such for schooners, frigates, or other sailing ships in general? Also, are there sights which state which sails are correct and such? (24 years ago, 21-Nov-00, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.boats)

  Re: Cruise Ship

Cool! It reminds me of the new Disney Cruise ships. I like the way you manged to get the front of the ship to slope up using regular plates. An inspiration to all boat lovers. If only school would end for a couple of months, I could finish all the (...) (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.boats)

  Re: Large and Impressive Boat

(...) IMHO, even if there's no new solution to the pixellation of bow and stern (our perennial problem). I think the colour scheme is quite effective, but I'd love to see a few more detailed pictures of some areas, notably the midships region and (...)   Re: Building my first real boat!

Uhm, okay, I think this project is delayed... I'm not going to build it any time soon. My current project is to build a big big tree from the Research Glider sets, with lots of pterodactyl nests! (But don't worry, this idea is stored in my "will (...) (24 years ago, 4-Oct-00, to lugnet.boats)

Re: Building my first real boat!

(...) I've been on three houseboats, and they all looked like boxes in water. But these were rental boats, intended to be used for only 4-7 days. I'm sure the ones people live in are nicer. oh, and there were two props on the boat, one in each of (...) (24 years ago, 25-Sep-00, to lugnet.boats)

Re: Sorry for this taking so long, but thanks for waiting!! (pictures are up!)

The ferry was built and almost completed about two months ago. But then one night I was transporting it to another room in my house and uhh.......the unthinkable happened. CRASH! SHLINKLE! BOOM! AHHH!!!! Yep, it fell. The feeling you get when it (...) (24 years ago, 16-Sep-00, to lugnet.boats)

Re: Sorry for this taking so long, but thanks for waiting!! (pictures are up!)

Oh, wow! Great big big boat! Awesome! This is a true masterpiece, how many bricks are in there? I like the way you've included so much in the ship, like a kitchen, and a meat storage room. Even a storage room for guns! It looks just like a real (...) (24 years ago, 16-Sep-00, to lugnet.boats)

Re: Sorry for this taking so long, but thanks for waiting!! (pictures are up!)

Wow! That's a challenge! I've always dreamt of seeing a big ferry in minifig scale lego! Actually, I saw one of those ferries in LEGO, at a travel agency in Gothenburg. It wasn't minifig scale though, but really realistic. --Tobias (...) (24 years ago, 16-Sep-00, to lugnet.boats)

  Building my first real boat!

Tonight, I decided "Hey! I'm gonna build my first boat! I've never built a boat before!" I decided to build a houseboat. Have you ever seen McGuyver? He lives in a houseboat, and I'm going to try to build a boat somewhat like his. Well, not an exact (...) (24 years ago, 16-Sep-00, to lugnet.boats)

  Re: A project suggestion= Let's develop a Theme ourselves....

(...) Right now I am not, but I have in the past had working water based systems. What I'd like to see is a system like the BRIO system, but scaled so that the Lego boats would be able to travel it. I am going to have a go at this once I am back in (...) (24 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.boats, lugnet.general)

  Re: Making a Dock :)

Thanks for the tips, i'm slightly confused, but i understand basically what you're saying, rather than use a real road plate, make a small one laner thing outta smooth tiles to take away the crane length problem. Got any links to pics that would (...) (24 years ago, 6-Sep-00, to lugnet.boats, lugnet.town)

  Re: Making a Dock :)

(...) Here, I suggest doing -exactly- what the real ones do, and you now have a easy way to make white, or black, docking. Take the train track, and build a support network around it. Tile this area using 2x2 tiles (now, since they are widely (...) (24 years ago, 5-Sep-00, to lugnet.boats, lugnet.town)

  Making a Dock :)

Heya everyone. I was wondering if anyone here has converted a sail n' fly marina into a cargo dock. I know it sounds like a weird project, but if i could do it, i have a readily available one to go buy from a friend for 20$, i should probably get it (...) (24 years ago, 5-Sep-00, to lugnet.boats)

Re: New Capital Ship: HMS Queen

Lindsay, Oh my gosh! (Thud!) What an awesome job. It reminds me of when I was on the U.S.S. Missouri when Lynn and I went to Hawaii. I thought it was really weird to have a wooden deck on such a large battleship until I found out the reason. I will (...) (24 years ago, 28-Jul-00, to lugnet.boats)

  New Capital Ship: HMS Queen

Hi all, In anticipation of my being Lego-less in the upcoming year, I decided to make use of these designs I've been scratching out for the last six months and build a new capital ship. It's not _Gloire_ or any modification thereof, but rather a (...) (24 years ago, 28-Jul-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.pirates, lugnet.boats, lugnet.general) !

  Re: Curved Bow

(...) I'm still a fan of using the 1x4/2x2 brick hinge to simulate the bow--I'm experimenting with four-section variable curve bows, but I don't have the construction room to build it up as I'd like (I had a 48-wide ship that was doing OK). So I've (...) (24 years ago, 27-Jul-00, to lugnet.boats)

  Continuation: HMS Queen

Phase II Construction; all turrets in situ, all decks but bow complete, and both funnels erected. I'm now reaching the point where I don't have enough room in the apartment to take a good picture of the darn thing. The polemast is only there as a (...) (...) of (...) The problem with that is that making a forecastle deck would be almost impossible. I still prefer the basic brick steps. (24 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.boats)

  Curved Bow

I've found a good way to make curved bows, like on the Titanic. Take a heck of a lot of 1x2 bircks, build two walls of the same length, attach them at a 90 degree angle, then bend the wall to attach to two other walls, to make the curved walls. (I (...) (24 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.boats)

  HMS Queen

Hi all- Well, here it is, the current phase of my last construction before departure. Purely aghast at the horror of a French ironclad, however decrepit and obsolescent, stalking the South Seas, it's only a matter of time before our intrepid Royal (...)   Re: Pirate Gaming

(...) Hmm, we never did manage PirateFest '00 (though we had a good time at Brickfest 2000). Should we try for Piratefest '00 (can we manage it before Lindsay heads off?)? (24 years ago, 20-Jul-00, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.boats)
