Nacon - A Matrix Hovership —Ryan Wood
Inspired by The Matrix and all other Matrix moc builders (Adrian Drake, Jon Palmer, Jamie Neufeld, Bruce Lowell, and others,) I present the Nacon, a heavy gunboat model hovership that's named after the Mayan god of war. (URL) Because of the amount (...) (20 years ago, 25-May-04, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.space, FTX) !!

Re: Nacon - A Matrix Hovership —Dave Johann
commence jaw droppage! Ryan, I truly don't have the words to express just how cool this model really is. I think I'll have to study it for a few hours before I can write up a truly coherant response. All I can sey is: visors! more later, -Dave (20 years ago, 26-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Nacon - A Matrix Hovership —Ryan Wood
(...) Dave, thanks. I think this is a model people will have to see in person to get the full idea, so I hope the pics are doing it some justice. Glad you like the visors, I loved the idea when I first saw it. --Ryan W. (20 years ago, 26-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Nacon - A Matrix Hovership —David Gregory
(...) Very nice. How on earth did you get all those minifig visors to stay in place? (20 years ago, 26-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Nacon - A Matrix Hovership —Ryan Wood
(...) Thanks David. As can be seen in (URL) the picture> that started it all, the visors fit right onto the edge of the tire, and 17 visors form a perfect circle all around. During the course of buying parts on bricklink, I found that newer tires (...) (20 years ago, 26-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Nacon - A Matrix Hovership —Chris Maddison
(...) Gah. Wow. Jinkies, even. This is some serious mad brick skillz, Ryan. Absolutely gorgeous-ugly. This is a perfect fit for the Matrix universe. The exterior: awesome usage of that sweet visor technique. The weapons and sensors are well done, (...) (20 years ago, 26-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Nacon - A Matrix Hovership —Soren Roberts
(...) Y'know given the model's shape that's a really messed up thing to say... Soren (seriously questioning our "family forum" status) (20 years ago, 26-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Nacon - A Matrix Hovership —Ryan Wood
(...) Heh.. ewwww. I think I'll go cry now, knowing what thoughts are going through certain people's minds when they see my moc. /me weeps. --Ryan W. (20 years ago, 26-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Nacon - A Matrix Hovership —Ryan Wood
(...) Chris, thanks for the compliments. :) All I wanted to do was make a ship that would look good alongside mocs like Nebuchadnezzar. Guess I've succeeded. :) (...) For some reason, I never planned on using the TIE screen in mocs, but I had (...) (20 years ago, 26-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Nacon - A Matrix Hovership —Soren Roberts
(URL) The first thing I thought when I saw it was "death tadpole". That's a really nice piece of work. I think the exterior is of average quality (althoug I do like those hoverpods), but the interior is awe-inspiring. It looks perfect, with all the (...)          Re: Nacon - A Matrix Hovership —Ryan Wood
(...) Much thanks, Soren. You speak of the averageness of the exterior, and I'll be honest, I agree. Nothing incredibly new or fancy to it, just a lot of slopes and antennaes and pods. Pretty simple stuff. Thanks for your kind words about the (...) (20 years ago, 26-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Nacon - A Matrix Hovership —Jean-Pascal Rignault
Hi Ryan, First of all, congrats for such a comprehensive post. As I already told you before, it's a very nice habit you have to take pics of the MOC on its way to become THE MOC! Then having the comments on MOCpages + actually presenting the design (...) (20 years ago, 26-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Nacon - A Matrix Hovership —Ryan Wood
(...) JPR, I appreciate your kind words. :) This is an unusual moc for me because it has extra history to it that my other stuff doesn't have, so I felt the MOCpage was necessary to share some of that story instead of cluttering my original post (...)         Re: Nacon - A Matrix Hovership —Gil Shaw
(...) Bravo Ry...really excellent build. Although we've all seen the Matrix inspired ships here before, what I love particularily about this one is that you've used it for a frame to hang what is essentially a mobile playset, using a great interior (...)          Re: Nacon - A Matrix Hovership —Ryan Wood
(...) Gil, I always look forward to your comments. You always see right to the heart of a moc, and I always anticipate what words of inspiration you'll share with each new creation. Okay enough brown-nosing.. Hey when I promise playability, I can do (...) (20 years ago, 26-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Nacon - A Matrix Hovership —Ley Ward
(...) That's just scary good, Ryan. Here's what I think, I think you should pack that up and send it to me for 'safe keeping' because you're young and you might part it out some day to make something more awesome. I have a nice high shelf to put it (...) (20 years ago, 26-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Nacon - A Matrix Hovership —Ryan Wood
(...) Heh. Your Lego labs of insanity would warp this thing into some odd new matrix fly bot or mutant hoversheep or something. Nuh uh. This guy ain't going anywhere anytime soon, unless I can rouse myself enough to go to a local LUG meeting. (...) (...) (20 years ago, 26-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Nacon - A Matrix Hovership —Ley Ward
(...) Ah, you are too suspicious and worldly wise... alas. (...) I always like when stuff happens that way. Heck, I can trace some of my stuff back to Keith Goldman (URL) mentioning Hippies.> Once you've got that 'seed-part', 'seed-assembly', (...) (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

I was totally at a loss for how to use it, so I'm glad someone was able to make use of it. It constantly amazes me how much detail you (...) (20 years ago, 26-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Nacon - A Matrix Hovership —Ryan Wood
(...) You sir, are a genius. Your animals and furniture and fun little tidbits are all so cool and creative. Thanks again, oh and glad you're not pissed at a spacer stealing your ideas. :p --Ryan W. (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Nacon - A Matrix Hovership —Leonard Hoffman
(...) Ryan, this is amazing. The exterior is great and the interior is a work of pure genius! I'm glad I saw this before I started work on my Jade Empire shuttle, because I've decided to re-work the way I get access to the interior and make it (...)
