Re: Orlando PaB -- Initial Report

Thank you for having posted that summary of the Orlando PaB! I just got back from there, and the selection is a little different from what you saw last week. Specifically, the bin which used to hold 1x2 clear colorless bricks is now empty, and there (...) (21 years ago, 7-Sep-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.us.fl.orl)

DB new sets & pictures: British service packs

Well, I would really prefer to make it in real life, but I could see most of it in my head & it was late-after midnite-and I didn't want to wake any one with the shuffling of bricks, or pull out all my buckets of separated bricks (I don't have (...)   10017 Hopper Wagon - simply a great set

Never mind the Metorliner, my <set:10017> My-Own-Train Hopper Wagon arrived yesterday, and I have to say it is an absolute pleasure to build. It's a return to the classic sets made of bricks, not custom parts. And, for those parts, it's great value. (...) (23 years ago, 26-Oct-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.lego.direct)

(...) No, you could use numbers, if you had number bricks or number tiles (the tile supply is limited so I think you're restricted to base 4 (0,1,2, and 3) numbering. The 1x1 number bricks are rare nowadays. -- Larry Pieniazek larryp@novera.com (...) (25 years ago, 15-Sep-99, to lugnet.trains)

I've never really got myself set up to look at L-Draw files (and it's tough at work with an RS/6000 running AIX), but having just built the Best-Lock pirate ship last night (look for a more complete review tonight), I'll talk a bit about the (...)   New MEGABLOKS bulk buckets

I think they're new, at least. I just saw them for the first time at Target, and they're already on clearance. The buckets are labeled 987 and 988 and include 250 basic bricks in each. Stripes in light blue? Is that all you can do? :-) I think they're really good. The diesel looks better now with more yellow at the front, and those curved-top bricks really make the hopper something special. Those other wagons look the part too. (...)
