I think they're new, at least.  I just saw them for the first time at Target,
and they're already on clearance.  The buckets are labeled 987 and 988 and
include 250 basic bricks in each.  Not sure what the difference is between the
two numbers--both contain 250 bricks.  I bought the one that looked like it
would have pastels, but they're the normal colors.  It's all basic bricks,
too--1x2, 2x2, and 2x4 as far as I could tell from a quick glance.  I'll try to
get a part/color breakdown to post tomorrow.

MSRP appears to be $4.99, but Target had them for $2.48, which is $0.992 per
piece.  Also available are 40-piece buckets of Duplo-sized maxi-bricks, but I
didn't buy any of those.

While I have you on the line, I noticed at Wal*Mart a new (to me) quite large
bucket of maxi-bricks, though it was on the very top shelf (about half a mile in
the air), so I couldn't check the price, and I'm not sure of a piece count,
either.  I know that's not much detail, but the bucket looked to be about
5-gallon sized.  I also don't know if an equivalent bucket exists for
micro-blocks, though that would be quite a find--you could fit a lot of bricks
in a bucket of that size.

Dave!

(...) Here it is: (URL) keeping with the "Baker's Dozen" rule, it contains a few extra pieces, as usual. Dave! (21 years ago, 15-Apr-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)
