Re: A couple of pictures of the GMLTC layout at Carlsbad

(...) We had to leave the two middle sections of the train yard home, because we had no way to ship them. For the uninitiated: The layout is usually 45" longer (left-to-right). Each section is 45" long by 30/35/40" deep. The pictures are showing 14 (...) (24 years ago, 16-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Formal Letter to TLC?

Hey everybody... I've noticed a lot of frustration recently by Lugnuts about TLC's lack of an explanation for 2001 set actions, neglect to do anything about copyrighted stolen images, and lack of communication in general to the community.   Re: PNLTC Presents a Guinness World Record LEGO Train Track Display

One small 'nit' to pick: That's not a "suspension" bridge, it's actually a "cable-stayed" bridge. Similar idea, but different implementations. A true suspension bridge would have two (or four) main cables, with vertical 'suspenders' between the main (...) (24 years ago, 18-Aug-00, to lugnet.events)

Project proposal: Seven Wonders of the LEGO World

I'm lookin' at the new LUGNET homepage and thinkin' that we oughtta have a special area which captures the spirit, imagination, and dedication of LEGO builders and wraps it up in a Nice Neat (...) Once again, the PNTLC, the premier LEGO Train Club, does things bigger and better... Way to go PNTLC! Hope everthing goes smoothly this weekend, all us "train geeks" are looking forward to pictures - and video! JohnG, GMLTC (...) (24 years ago, 16-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Why do we want to display?

(...) Wow, that's an open-ended question! I'll throw in my 2cents worth. The GMLTC does 4 to 6 shows a year. We'd like to do more, but nearly every show we do costs us money - we very seldom make enough to cover show expenses. Especially the 'out of (...) (24 years ago, 11-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

TRAINS, TRAINS, TRAINS!!! Sorry - I just had to say that. I don't have a problem with having other displays, but that just isn't where much of my interest is.   Re: NMRA show (the first of many?)

(...) 1000 is definitely way too much, at this point. I think GMLTC typically looked for some amount that would cover the expenses (gas, budget lodging if it was a long way away from MSP, etc.)... 100 seems reasonable, maybe a bit more.
