| | Re: A couple of pictures of the GMLTC layout at Carlsbad
| (...) We had to leave the two middle sections of the train yard home, because we had no way to ship them. For the uninitiated: The layout is usually 45" longer (left-to-right). Each section is 45" long by 30/35/40" deep. The pictures are showing 14 (...) (24 years ago, 16-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)

| | Formal Letter to TLC?
| Hey everybody... I've noticed a lot of frustration recently by Lugnuts about TLC's lack of an explanation for 2001 set actions, neglect to do anything about copyrighted stolen images, and lack of communication in general to the community. From the (...) (24 years ago, 19-Aug-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego) !!

| | Re: Why do we want to display?
| (...) Wow, that's an open-ended question! I'll throw in my 2cents worth. The GMLTC does 4 to 6 shows a year. We'd like to do more, but nearly every show we do costs us money - we very seldom make enough to cover show expenses. Especially the 'out of (...) (24 years ago, 11-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

Now, what I would like to see you do is to franchise out the (...) (24 years ago, 11-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf, lugnet.trains, lugnet.publish, lugnet.build, lugnet.trains.org)

| | Re: Why do we want to display?
| TRAINS, TRAINS, TRAINS!!! Sorry - I just had to say that. I don't have a problem with having other displays, but that just isn't where much of my interest is. I would like to do a nice Star Wars display, like NELUG had, but I don't have time for (...) (24 years ago, 10-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

| | Re: NMRA show (the first of many?)
| (...) When the GMLTC displayed at the 1999 NMRA show in St. Paul, we received nothing but support from the "real" model railroaders. They would ask questions, make comments, point out mistakes (yea, we're not perfect!), and seemed genuinely (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

| | RE: Booth monitors (look and feel)
| Actually, John Neal ("J-2") ( johnneal@uswest.net ) is the GMLTC person to contact. He runs a tshirt screening business out of his home, and has contacts for embroidering shirts. He could probably give you estimated costs, timeframes, etc... I think (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

| Well, the NMRA show is now behind us. Kudoes to GMLTC and PNLTC who paved the way for LEGO Train Clubs (even if they have set the bar *very high* for those that folllow them.;-). Many 'regulars' from the NMRA circuit remembered them, and commented (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)
