In your message you said: (...) whoops. it's fixed now. thanks. one thing: the range was correctly indicated in the FAQ as $6000-$6FFF. You've got it here as $6000-$6999. Fred (27 years ago, 20-Nov-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  HOW TO UNSUBSCRIBE

Greetings all, This is the periodic reminder about how to get yourself removed from the Handy Board list. The method is to send e-mail to Fred Martin. (That's me!) To unsubscribe, send e-mail to fredm@media.mit.edu. The message should say, "Please (...) (27 years ago, 18-Nov-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  trouble with memory

Dear Fred Martin, I'm in deep deeeep trouble! A few weeks ago I first read about your handyboard and was very excited about it, because I was looking for a controller board for my autonomous vacuum cleaner. So I ordered the PCB from Douglas (...) (27 years ago, 11-Dec-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

It's unlikely you killed the MCU, there are 1k resistors in series with the RxD and TxD lines. Go to the assembly manual, and run through the series of tests that verify proper operation of the Interface/Charger Board. (URL) your message you said: (...) just to add a bit, the chips that can be bad if you can't bootstrap are the 6811, the RAM, the 'hc04, and the soldered-down 'hc373. If you have any easy way of swapping first 3 of these 4 these chips, try it. Fred (...) ? (...) co (...) (27 years ago, 30-Oct-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

you easily could have blown chips if the vreg was shorted. then you're putting the direct batt voltage into the chips. just about any chip could be blown. sorry for the bad news! i'd try ordering the socketed parts from jameco and swap chips. fred (...) Lisa you could also use the HEXMON40 program you might already be familiar with from the Mini Board. Basically all you have to do is change the motor out and vector location definitions. Whoa, i just realized that the instructions *are* correct. Here's why. For this voltage test, the instructions assume you are powering your board from the DC adapter. This should give the 15 volts mentioned, unless: * you hooked up the battery pack (...) (27 years ago, 22-Oct-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

two things you can try: 1. use DLM to download the CONFIG0C.S19 file. Make sure to use the -eeprom flag. This will cause it to burn the config register to the proper value. 2.
