  Re: Advanced Design Train Roundhouse

In lugnet.org.us.lucny, Ben Fleskes writes: [Snip after reading it twice] (...) Thanks Ben (from PNLTC), for posting your basical design rules for the PNLTC roundhouse. I have been working some more on my roundhouse redesign yesterday night and have (...) (22 years ago, 16-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.lucny, lugnet.trains)

Re: Why not a cypress tree in the Legends re-release of 6390?

[snip] (...) Well the real reason (pure speculation, but the only thing that makes sense) is that the current road plates (grey or green) have wider roads and as a result narrower stud areas. Simply put, the original sliding "rails" are too wide. (...) (23 years ago, 13-Apr-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

(...) Thanks for the links Ed! This one is really impressing: (URL) to see some real designs. Most roundhouses I know are from model railroaders... So far I have only seen one in real live (just 30km away from here, but no longer in use). Regards, (...) (22 years ago, 16-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.lucny, lugnet.trains)

(...) Well, perhaps -- there is certainly desire for certain elements. I think we would all be served better by more selection in the accessory packs, but if the only way to get some things are going to be the Legend and Classics lines, then so be (...)   Why not a cypress tree in the Legends re-release of 6390?

Why? I can understand the new baseplates, but why replace the tree when you just came out with them in a service pack? Also, why replace the slider with specialized parts? Frank (23 years ago, 12-Apr-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

(...) Yeah. I agree. There's some good stuff online, and hey, I've grown up with late 1990's and 2000's Legos, and I'm doing fine. If you can afford it, try bricklink or ebay! Parts are doing pretty good this year: lots of sets with nice parts. (...) (23 years ago, 14-Apr-02, to lugnet.people)
