I'm wondering just what new baseplates it will come with. Hopefully
not the green ones! I would've thought that it would've said they if
they were a different color.
As for the tree, probably 100% of the cypress trees that were made are
already sealed in the polybags for the service packs and entered into
S@H's inventory system, and they can't just break open those bags (and
ship them back to wherever the sets are assembled) to make the Legend
set. Additionally, I suspect they couldn't commission another
production run of cypress trees just for this set, and maybe the
service packs aren't selling enough to justify another run for that
reason.
The slider was originally made of the old non-electric train rails,
right? I suspect that mold isn't available. So they're probably
substituting tiles instead, or some other part that is available.
