I would love to see a Classic technic set come back. The preoblem is this:
technic parts have changed considerably since then. Would they make sets with
the old "toothed" half bushes and angle connectors? I thought they stopped
using those because they split too easily.
I had one of the sets from which a big, yellow robot and a helicopter could be
built; I don't think that could be built w/o those toothed technic bushes and
angle connectors...
I'm pretty sure we wouldn't see any of the old technic friction pins, either.
As far as I can tell, though, it looks like the pneumatics haven't chenged much
over time.
I'm kind of skeptical about the whole "legends" line in the first place. Lego
direct really seems to cater to train and castle folks. I guess they've done
some kind of cost study and concluded that train and castle people do more
"shop at home" ordering than anyone else. But for folks interested in space
and technic like me, we're out of luck :-(
I'm hoping they'll surprise me ;-)
