Re: Proposal for an AFOL Event at LEGOLAND Windsor

(...) Don't worry - we hold a lot of meetings for the UK crowd anyway. I for one won't be bothered if this is purely a public show. It's no big deal for a lot of us to get together anytime. (...) I'd suggest you hold them as two separate events too (...) (23 years ago, 23-Apr-02, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: Newswatch: Fifth Legoland Park in Kansas City area in 2009

(...) I think there is a good chance for it to succeed in the Kansas City area. If your target attendance is 1.4M a year (which the other 4 Legoland parks average), that is well within the realm of reason if you include everything within a day's (...)   Re: Say it ain't so...

(...) Well, this is particularly new for me, because I don't go a a TRU every other weekend. Even during the holiday season, It's hard to find good sets at a decent price. Heck, most of the newer lines are too juniorized or overspecizliaed, and (...) (22 years ago, 9-Aug-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.space, lugnet.castle, lugnet.town)

Who wears the pants in this company?

In response to some of the negative comments I have heard about the new Legend series I would like to say this: We should all be happy about the re-release of these great sets, now those of us who were born a little later can enjoy some of the best (...)   Re: new lego sets? are they crazy?

(...) Allan, I agree. Everything you said was 100% true. Lego just isnt the way it was 4 or 5 years ago. I believe someone said that the Town theme didnt work well, so Lego introduced the Jack Stone series. Once Lego sees that the JS theme won't (...) (23 years ago, 7-Aug-01, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Fridays Castle Questionnaire...(BF2003)

So far they havn't listen. (...) Also that set is missing "Minifig Helmet (...) (21 years ago, 10-Aug-03, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

(...) Hi, I am in the camp that likes the new colors, and I think the new light grey may be better than the old. But then, I have a pretty large collection of the old colors, and for what I do with LEGO, it's all I should need going forward. For me, (...) <snip> Jake, Thanks for actively bringing up this topic. When I heard that colors were being replaced, it was like a punch in the stomach for me. I have been a LEGO fan, collector, builder, and proponent for much of my life. (I am 26, and have been (...) (21 years ago, 15-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)

(...) I am no expert on this aspect, but I don't think the logic is that sound here. I recall an article in a train magazine noting the 'graying' of the hobby. They worried that the average age of subscriber was like 56yrs old. I don't think (...) (21 years ago, 18-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)
