Remember that we're talking about LEGO Direct, not the traditional division
of LEGO that produces mainstream sets. Up until this point, LEGO Direct's
powers have NOT included manufacturing of new parts. They can get current
parts in any color as well as old parts *for which the molds still exist*.
But nothing involving new molds or the slightest bit of modification to molds.
So the helmets and visors in the set will be the ones we are all familiar
with from recent sets unless one of the following happens:
- LEGO has been developing a new helm/visor for a *mainstream*
set and LEGO Direct gets to use it.
- The old molds still exist and are usable. And LEGO is willing
to have Customer Service replace all of our broken helmets,
of which there will be a lot. This isn't likely, as the old
helmet was not very durable.
- LEGO Direct has been doing well enough that they've gained
new powers.
On another note, I bet that LEGO has already done most of the legwork to
produce *every one* of those sets and is simply asking us which will be
first. It generally takes them 6 months to manufacture and ship raw bricks.
Assembling the set would have to happen after that. It's mid-April, leaving
LEGO 8.5 months to release before the end of the year. 8.5-6= 2.5 months.
It must take at least that long to get stuff into the stores after assembly,
and you can bet they don't plan on missing the Christmas rush. AND Jake
said it wouldn't be the last Legends set of the year...
