In response to some of the negative comments I have heard about the new
Legend series I would like to say this:

We should all be happy about the re-release of these great sets, now those
of us who were born a little later can enjoy some of the best ever sets
without having to spend a year's allowance on it.

Then people complain, "well I just paid $400 dollars for a metroliner and it
is available for $150 now" they're afraid it might take the joy out of
collecting these rare beauties. Well take a good look at the box: it is in
Black and White, so you know whether or not you have an original or a remake
its just like the re-release of the new mini-cooper and the new Volkswagen
Beetle, while a yuppy young individual might buy one of these new cars and
think he's all that, the middle-aged man with a receding hair line smiles
and thinks to himself, "I was there for the real McCoy, and mine is an
original" you get the satisfaction of knowing yours is above all the rest.

And for those MISB collectors who cringe when a young enthusiastic fan of
Lego does buy a $400 metroliner and rip open the box, think of it this way,
now more than likely people will buy legends and open them rather than MISB
sets, so your precious gems are safe.

I read in the train group where a AFOL said Lego would have done all train
AFOLs a bigger favor if they had made a new train set that wasn't juniorized
instead of re-releasing the Metro-Liner.  ~NEWS FLASH~ !!! Lego isn't out to
please AFOL's (the crowd is flabergasted!) yes thats right, while they may
take a few hints and some input from all those adults out there, they still
must pretend to be a tobacco company and get little kids hooked so they can
put the bread on the table.  You must remember that AFOL's make up only a
small part of the Lego company's cutomers.

In closing I guess I'd like to say this: it's okay to express your opinion
on what you think about the new sets, but try not to badger the Lego company
if they don't do what you want or if they juniorize something too much.
Remember half the fun with Lego's is building something of your own.

Sincerely,

Michael
