  Re: Legends: good or bad?

(...) Well, the problem is that a lot of AFOLs have nostalgic value for sets. Old sets even pay off in nostalgia for kids-- there's something appealing about a "golden age" that's included in the word 'Legend'. Lego's cashing in on that. They (...) (22 years ago, 15-Apr-02, to lugnet.general)

since everybody else has designed a motorcycle of their own, I thought I'd try my hand at one. it's 21 studs x 6 studs x 6.66 bricks. unfortunately, I lack the l33+ MLCAD skillz of many of you, so I had to build it "the old fashioned way".questions, (...)   Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

First off, has anyone verified the accuracy of the claimed reason for the color change, i.e. to make the grays more "in line" with the other colors? I know very little about color theory, but naively, I'd say gray is 1/2 white and 1/2 black, or (...) (21 years ago, 15-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)

  Re: Sorting tray suggestion.

(...) I have yet to find the ideal sorting tray. So far, the old plastic inserts work the best for me. The 24 compartment trays from the Christmas calendar sets are also highly useful. Another useful thing I have for sorting is a shallow serving (...) (22 years ago, 9-Jan-03, to lugnet.storage)

Re: Best "practical" use of LEGO?

A 180 degree oval turn of track fits perfectly with the shorter dimension of my old lab demo table, so I set up a long oval (to get the trains past the sink) and crashed some of my Lego trains together to demonstrate conservation of momentum and (...)   Re: Is "traditional" Technic being killed off?

(...) I don't mind SOME of the new style smooth beams. My complaint is that the new style smooth beams and axle/rod/flex tube connectors have almost completely displaced "traditional" technic components. It's like the new "Technic" is a whole (...)
